MIC sponsors participation of NGO representatives to the upcoming Micronesia Challenge Action Planning Meeting

The upcoming Micronesia Challenge Action Planning Meeting in the Republic of Palau from December 4-7 will bring together for the first time representatives of the five jurisdictions signatories of the Challenge: Republic of Palau, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands, U.S. Territory of Guam and Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Due to the delegations’ limited funds for the event, several international organizations and agencies – including The Nature Conservancy, SPREP, NOAA and the US Department of Interior – have provided last-minute financial support.
MIC will contribute by sponsoring participation of five MIC members from the non-government sector: Patterson Shed (Executive Director, Conservation Society of Pohnpei), Madison Nena (Chairman, Kosrae Conservation & Safety Organization), Joe Konno (Chairman, Chuuk Conservation Society), Charles Chieng (Executive Director, Yap Community Action Program) and Steve Why (Executive Director, Marshall Islands Conservation Society.)
