MIC Media Coordinator launches new regional magazine

At the end of April, MIC Media Coordinator Olivier Wortel announced the launch in June or July of Equator, a new magazine on Micronesian environment and culture. As Olivier wrote in a message to all MIC members, "This is a unique project and certainly a first for the region – a magazine dedicated solely to Micronesia, and focusing almost entirely on the themes of culture and environment. I feel strongly that it will have a positive impact on awareness of the beautiful and unique cultures and environments of our region and the work that we are doing to protect them." Equator will inlcude expressions and input by all sorts of people, of all ages, and across different sectors of society and Oliver feels that "the members of MIC, both collectively and individually, should have a strong stake in the magazine."
